Daytrip diving Komodo
Besides the unique Komodo dragons and the rugged landscape, the national park is also known as one of the best dive locations in the world. It is a UNESCO world heritage, situated between Sumbawa and Flores and consists of 3 larger islands: Komodo, Rinca and Padar, as well as numerous smaller ones.
From pristine corals, mantas, sharks, turtles, dolphins, dugongs and giant pelagic animals to tiny pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, shrimps and frog fishes, you’ll find the diversity of marine life inspiring. Komodo’s beaches, blue lagoons teeming with fish and some of the most spectacular underwater landscapes attract divers from all over the world.
The underwater topography is as diverse as the marine life. Dive sites vary from gentle slopes to walls, channels, flat bottoms, pinnacles, overhangs and caves covered by hundreds of different species of hard and soft corals.
This location is known for strong current, if you’re an advanced and adventurous diver, you can test your mettle here. But if you prefer calm and relaxed dives, we choose beautiful and sheltered reefs.

Our Boat "Naring"
‘Naring’ is our spacious day trip boat. Her name means ‘respect’ in the local tribe language Manggarai and describes our attitude towards the Komodo National Park. She is 18 meters long and 4 meters wide. Equipped with a 6 cylinder engine, she can reach around 8 sea knots per hour and we can offer you 3 dives a day in Central or North Komodo. Crystal Rock, Cauldron, Castle Rock, Manta Point and Batu Bolong, just to name some of the highlights of Komodo, which we visit on a day trip. At your request we also combine 2 dives with trekking on Rinca Island to see the Komodo dragons.
Convenience and comfort for our guests are very important to us. ‘Naring’ is built with 2 passenger decks: a dive- and a sun deck. The dive deck offers in the bow benches and a dive setup area for a maximum of 16 guests and dive guides. In the stern is a rest room with western (marine) toilet, the kitchen for preparing our fresh lunch and the coffee/tea bar with drinking water, snacks and fruits. The sundeck is furnished with mattresses and bean bags. Both decks are covered with roofs for shadow. We provide towels and sufficient fresh water for cameras/equipment, and you can rinse yourself after diving.
For the first time on our boat, our very experienced dive guides will give you a detailed boat briefing, so you will feel home straight away. During the boat ride to the dive sites, they will inform you about Komodo National Park, the way we handle the park and of course safety procedures. Before each dive, they will give you a detailed pre-dive briefing and explain the dive site and the marine life you can expect. To maximize safety and enjoyment we always dive in small groups with a maximum of 4 divers per dive guide.
On board is a digital tablet available with ID books about fishes, nudibranchs, corals, etc.. You can use this to identify species for your logbook and learn more about the underwater world. You can find the same books as paper version (for reference only) in our dive center. And don’t forget our experienced and passionate dive guides who are on hand to help ID marine life, just ask!
Our dive equipment is well maintained, and we use quality brands such as Scubapro, AquaLung, Mares, DeepGear, Tusa and Suunto.
‘Naring’ has emergency oxygen on board and complies with all safety regulations including life jackets, life buoys, radio, GPS, hand phones and a first aid kit.
Our Crew "Naring"
‘Naring’ has a permanently employed crew: a very experienced captain, an engineer, a chef and an all-round assistant. In addition to their seamanship, they all are adept to work along with divers, diving equipment and of course with guests.
